Rørleggeren som kom til å redde prinsessen mange flere ganger enn det han trodde var nok i forgjengeren har i en av seriens få avstikkere fra temaet byttet ut prinsesser for onde konger og drømmeverdener.

Faktisk så har du her muligheten til å styre prinsessen selv, en av totalt fire figurer. De tre andre er ikke så ukjent de heller: Mario, Luigi, Toad.
