Hear ye! One of the most unique and flavory game of the 90s, The Neverhood, is today savored by many adventure fans as tokens of love, spirit and story. The original creators of that game are now back with another adventure game called Armikrog, featuring space explorer Tommynaut and his blind talking dog named Beak-Beak, who crashland on a strange planet and finds themselves locked inside the mysterious fortress of Armikrog.
Doug TenNapel, creator of Earthworm Jim™ (Interplay) and The Neverhood™ (Electronic Arts) has partnered with Pencil Test Studios, to create what some have called The Neverhood's "spiritual successor" -- a clay and puppet animated adventure game called ARMIKROG.
What made The Neverhood special besides the story, was that everything was made in clay. You know, real clay. And animations themselves were stop-motion capture, creating a very unique touch to the atmosphere and immersion you got when playing. Armikrog is much of the same, and in a good way. However since these types of games won't get a single coin of attention from publishers, Don TenAple and his collegues at Pencil Test Studios have created a Kickstarter so that fans can help make this dream a realization. Being a fan of The Neverhood myself I felt it was my plight to inform all of our readers on this one of a kind franchise that Don and his collaborators are mostly along in doing.
